Adam is released from prison and tries to connect with a son he never knew, while Eli, the brother of the boy Adam killed so long ago, seeks revenge. Adam’s son, Jimmy looks like he’s headed for a dark future like his father. Donna, the mother of his son, is torn - caught between her unresolved feelings for Adam and her need to protect her only child. Mike, a wannabe musician trapped under the thumb of his drug-dealing uncle Leff is trying to escape a bleak future. Their collective struggle to get out from beneath the oppression of the inner city ultimately becomes a fight to survive, where more than just their lives are on the line.
