In 1895 The Preston School Of Industry a youth detention facility for underage boys was built on an ominous California hilltop as an alternative to blending minor offenders with the adult male population at nearby San Quentin which, until then, had been the norm. For years the neo-gothic castle served its purpose, but by the 20th century corruption had penetrated its walls as boys began to mysteriously disappear, or sometimes simply die of undetermined, yet never investigated causes. Around mid-century a young woman named Anna began working as a housekeeper-cook at the facility and quickly took the role as covert caretaker to many of the inmates, protecting them when she could from harm and giving, when possible, hope. Until she was murdered. APParition takes it from there. A group of young people, guided by an APP designed to connect the living with the dead, set out on a mission that ultimately lands them at The Preston. Its horrific history tied to each of them, for unexplained and unresolved reasons they’ll soon discover.
